Lucka Koscak
Two angels, 2008, terra cotta 25 x 17 x 9 cm
b 1957
Koščak has thrived living and creating in both Geneva and Ljubljana while exhibiting her creations internationally in numerous exhibitions since 1988. She was commissioned and completed six public sculptures (for the ITU in UNHCR buildings in Geneva, for a church in Zwevegem, Belgium, and in several parks and public spaces in Slovenia). She has collaborated in many international projects and symposiums, including representing Slovenia in the Master Class in St. Petersburg and in the World Expo in Hannover.
Koščak discovered her thirst for artistic expression through her work with children. Her creative children’s workshops motivated her to pursue an art education, first at the Art Academy of Ljubljana, then at E.S.A.V. (Ecole Superieure d’Art Visuel) in Geneva, where she received a diploma in three dimensional expression in 1991 and subsequently completed two years of post-graduate studies in creativity. Her work is also based on her experience in theatre, photography, film and dance. For example, she created masks, costumes and scenarios for the theatre play Narnia. In 1994, she co-founded the Puppet theatre Gite D’Oliva in Geneva and also doubled as the Theatre’s puppet designer.
Bezpala Brown Gallery currently exhibits numerous Angels in various media by Koščak.
