The Bezpala Brown Gallery (BBG), established in April 2010, has already made a footprint in the local art community by hosting a number of impressive exhibitions of established European and Canadian artists. We were pleased to see seven of our exhibitions positively reviewed in the national and local media including three reviews in the Globe and Mail. We have experienced increasing interest week over week as we have continued to introduce exceptional artists and artwork from Europe into the Toronto art community and to explore local artistic talent.

The launch of LASTIN exhibits in October of 2010 started the process of discovery of emerging talent within the local art scene. Starting from February of 2012, we are reviving the LASTIN project with an extended period of time for display of selected artwork. Unlike the earlier version of the exhibit format, the new exhibit is designed as both a juried and a curated show. Another new feature is participation of emerging artists from other countries, thus expanding the geographic scope of the event.

LASTIN project seeks to achieve the following goals:
To explore and identify emerging Canadian and international talent
To foster the dialogue and exchange between Canadian and foreign peer artists
To support and promote original and fresh ideas, experimental spirit, and professional development of emerging artists

The selection of the artwork for each show is based on the following:
Creativity and innovation
Excellence of execution, performance or media application
Originality
Technical skill and fine draughtsmanship

Artists from any discipline may apply, including but not limited to: photography, creative writing, printmaking, performance, sculpture, painting, drawing, choreography, film, video, musical composition, ceramics, installation art and performance arts.

We do not discriminate in our programs or activities against anyone on the basis of race, creed, colour, religion, ethnic origin, citizenship, gender identity, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, ancestry, record of offences, disability, HIV status, or veteran status.
